The “key pads” are catching fire with independent publishers, bloggers and on social networks voicing support for independent publishing regarding the sinister nature of statements leaked… veiled… behind a brewing confrontation of the titans “Corporate Journalism versus Citizen Journalism.”

The Irony of it all, is that even writers who have been on strike are opting to join the “Bandwagon” destination independent publishing…. Who will be next? The answer is “anybody” Anyone can choose to be a producer versus a consumer of content information as long as a connection to the world wide web exists…. Everyday someone realizes that you don’t have to conform to the mainstream agenda and/or of glorifying “things” “IT” tried many times before and have failed to advocating social justice and creating checks and balances needed in social responsibility.
“Journalism is not surgery, for one thing — or presumably it would be regulated like medicine is, with licensing and testing requirements, and a professional body with the ability to remove a license.”
Not according to David Hazinski Associate professor of telecommunications and head of broadcast news at Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism, “The premise of citizen journalism is that regular people can now collect information and pictures with video cameras and cellphones, and distribute words and images over the Internet. Advocates argue that the acts of collecting and distributing makes these people “journalists.” This is like saying someone who carries a scalpel is a “citizen surgeon” or someone who can read a law book is a “citizen lawyer.” Tools are merely that. Education, skill and standards are really what make people into trusted professionals. Information without journalistic standards is called gossip.”
Peter Griffin: “Family Guy” Monday December 17th 2007 “Why don’t the government step in and tell us what and what not to watch?”

The current uneasiness of major media publisher of the emerging “informed market” as the “Cluetrain manifesto” narrates… towards social networking and the potential it creates to empower people reinforces what I learnt under a great Mentor Robin Good at Master New Media Networks that Independent publishing is more than hype… It creates a far reaching impact and opens up the fabrics of society that people don’t see… Independent publishing is the authority in social responsibility and social justice.

The news industry can not and should not regulate itself as other may suggest… The failures of Major News Media is one of their on creation… By failure to be objective in news covering, monopoly and greed… Some are paying… like the Conrad Black, a Media Mogul going to jail for 61/2years.

Pay attention… “your consumers are no longer dependent on the 6pm/10pm News from major news outlets”… “Consumers who have been consuming the garbage that comes out major news outlets are slowly turning off those channels and finding the news themselves and also counter reporting. “En masse” they have joined Bazaars and they openly talk about issue without editorial executives oversights or bureaucratic news manipulation.

To student’s of history… that would create a problem for research of the past. Limited resources and only biased information… I think that would taking us back to the stone age and erasing all the technological gains in the new media technologies in the 21st century… what has been achieved should be improved… and used to connect people of all walks of life.

If for instance an Unemployed Youth finds a niche and employs himself and creates opportunities for others by sharing what they know on the the internet… then we know that we are making advances towards accomplishing a few challenges of the world… The Millennium Challenge Goals…. To eradicate poverty and empower the little child, woman or man across the Globe.

In High school I participated in the journalism club and one of many dreams and aspiration were to be a photo journalist with a humanitarian organization covering the news… but unless you are a major player in Hollywood or Have name brand recognition you need many years of experience to work for those agencies. But in reality people can easily train each other to perform those same functions… “Does it take jobs away?” Of course not… rather it is an opportunity to engage the new informed markets of informed citizens.
Rather than Regulate, Encourage participation and debate to “really” address the real “ISSUES”.
