Free SEO/SEM Consulting for NGOs: Erucall Sharewood

The need to reach a wide audience drives the need to have a website… […]But some NGO’s don’t have enough funding to hire a full time Webmaster or an IT person to help with Many aspects of improving page ranking.[…]

These smaller NGO’s that in a sense play a bigger role in the uplifting communities resort to Volunteers to help Optimize their websites… They use sites as UN Volunteers, Ideal.org and other Volunteer resources to find volunteers… If you read some of the posting you sense a urgent need for help but limited resources available to keep working on social responsibility issues…

Working as an Editor at Master New Media has given me the opportunity to define a role that I can participate in, to help small NGO’s with free SEO… As an intern it allows me to reach out to industry peers and increase my skills in SEO/SEM consulting. I will cordinate the work virtually with participants of all ages of life and share that information in the coming days with participating organizations.

That would be my little giving back on the social network… I am out on a mission to see how informed is the market… Can the masses communicate without the Berlin walls? Can free web2.0 technologies and other technologies in the 21st century contribute to reduce poverty? We don’t know unless we try… and calibrate various technologies and tools available. Introducing new “sharewood picnics” a loose term coined by my mentor Robin Good.

“The successful man will profit from his mistakes and try again in a different way.” Dale Carnegie quotes (American lecturer, author, 1888-1955)

SEO/SEM Free Consulting for NGOs

by Erucall News Media Network on Dec 17

I built my blog to share information on SEO/SEM and lay foundation for a project in Kenya(one among a few) to build a Community Multimedia Center in rural-Kenya to empower the local populace. In this region people die of water born diseases… poor access to water a gift from God… Brad at Living Water International has been kind to me twice to arrange a scholarship to attend a water pump repair and shallow well drilling training, but due to many reasons beyond my control I haven’t made the class. I am looking to Donate that scholarship to anyone interested in Volunteering in Kisii-Kenya.

The concept is great, most often a volunteer goes on the field only to discover that maybe a little preparation could have helped make a far reaching impact… So I recommend for volunteers to research to train in addition to your profession or background.

Could be a small course on Micro-Insurance Schemes, Micro-Loans, Things that you can easily and within a short period of time train other on the field to be self sufficient… Give the fish… but also point what lake you got the fish from….

Here below is a response from one of the many NGO’s in the world, Keep doing the good work and uplift people.

Comments: To Whom It May Concern:

I am interested in starting a CMC in the rural part of Kisii, Kenya. I
have a piece of land donated by my late grand father that I would like
to use to bridge the digital divide and empower the rural populace. I
intend to offer free training and resources for self reliance. Helping
the rural populace access health care via self managed insurance schemes
or better known as Micro-Insurance.

Woman Accessing Internet in Desert

I am currently a volunteer for UNESCO Open Training platform and feel
some of those resources could benefit people in the developing world
that can’t access education due to a zillion economical reasons. My
concentration is finding Refugee related open source courses and other
learning resources especially in web2.0 technologies.

I am interested in learning more on Narrowcasting and CMC planning. What
are the possibilities of high speed satellite Internet connections in this
remote region of Kenya?
What can you recommend for solar technology to
power the center?

Please feel free to share any resources that can aide in the project. CMC’s in rural places of the world is a good way of improving communication and reach an wider audience base… Connecting the rest of the world to the Internet Grid… Because as you may know “It is said that 50% of the world’s population has never made a phone call or received a phone call”… so thinks about the Internet?

Empowering the local communities to self manage aspects of their life is a much better than waiting for the corrupt governments of the world the build infrastructure or waiting for a crippling healthcare systems to save lives… One single health care event in the developing world can drive a family to serious poverty issues…. for more on Micro Insurance Schemes please visit www.microinsuranceacademy.org, Mr.Iddo Dror Director of Operations Micro Insurance Academy.

Below is a short video illustrating what Empowered communities are capable of achieving. Have a look at the 5 minute CHAT© video and find out what all the buzz is about!

HI nice to go through your site which really has good information on sem consulting.sem consulting really covers anything that helps a company have its site viewed in search engines and is a huge subject and beyond the scope of this article, but basically it is the process a company goes through to try and ensure that their website ranks highly in a search engine.

I’m actually looking to help with any projects in Kisii this coming August, 2008.

I’m a grad student at University of Denver. My focus is in NGO development. I have a lot of experience in fundraising. My undergrad is in Education. If you need help with any program development or educational programs, please let me know.

I have a few upcoming classes in micro finance as well, so it would be interesting to learn about your micro-insurance program.
