What is it?

A Tour in A Town with A “Cluetrain” You Digg? Sharewoodville
Independent publishing is a ever growing business… Everyday somewhere someone is browsing different domain registration site to register a domain… Godaddy… Yahoo… Covad or one that fits their budget.

I meet many people and when we talk they ask “I have a domain that I would like to use” or that “I have website but.. when I search keywords related to my industry… service or product… my website is not ranked… even on the first 10pages on major search engines”… “What should I do?”

Page rank.
Wikipedia decribe this process as
“Mathematical PageRanks (out of 100) for a simple network (PageRanks reported by google are rescaled logarithmically). Page C has a higher PageRank than Page E, even though it has fewer links to it: the link it has is much higher valued. A web surfer who chooses a random link on every page (but with 15% likelihood jumps to a random page on the whole web) is going to be on Page E for 8.1% of the time. (The 15% likelihood of jumping to an arbitrary page corresponds to a damping factor of 85%.) Without damping, all web surfers would eventually end up on Pages A, B, or C, and all other pages would have PageRank zero. Page A is assumed to link to all pages in the web, because it has no outgoing links.”
Everyone wants products displayed in the grocery stores, you can’t imagine the nightmare it would create If you had to go to any major grocery store and no aisle we marked or no customer service rep to help you locate the item you need… Worst yet what is all stores took the same aproach?… No labels or anything?? That would create a problem. Keep working on the content but also learn to label what you work on… Make accessible… Then wait for the money to start filling your pipelines.
Being an intern at Robin Good Networks… part of the training involves preparing content to aide self-use in Independent publishing. But SEO is more than a 1minute video… It requires a lot of work and patience… and a team of surgical doctors with new technology medical equipments to perfom surgery to save a life… A website life… Take for example… An artist who breathes through his/her work.
The artist learns to do regular and basic maintenances related to the work they do… A Rock Band recently needed to move music equipment from their studios to the famous Hendrix Recording Studios… My roommate helped move them and he got an experience of a lifetime… moving them from one studio to another… delicate handling of music equipments… and a well executed move at the end. Why? because the rock band has a good manager, Good assistants that help cordinate the behind the scenes to music production… but standing behind him/her or the rock band… is many other vendor… and in this case a moving company. The manager talked to an account manager… An account manager who went to the site and inspected the work and provided and estimate… then cordinates his group of movers to execute the job just like a good choreographed movie.

SEO/SEM requires managing a team consisting creative minds… a good webmaster… technically directing and working with the SEO/SEM consultants to “Web improve” for your prime piece of real estate… your website. It is possible to find someone with webmastering/technical knowledge… Digg?

SEO 101.
I started researching and understanding SEO/SEM, I consulted great minds in the social networks… Bryan Hoyt at Brush technologies in Christchurch, New Zealand offered the following tip that I share with you all.
“The wikipedia article is a reasonable run-down of SEO: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki
/Search_engine_optimization searchenginewatch.com has some pretty informative stuff. http://searchenginewatch.com
/showPage.html?page=webmasters would be a good place to start. http://www.w3schools.com
/default.asp is probably one of the easiest & best beginner resources out there. It’s even useful for more advanced stuff, though its usefulness does tend to run thin when you get to tricky problems. But it’s very easy to find your way around & learn from, and it’s got a super-wide range of topics that it covers. http://w3schools.com/web /default.asp looks like a good general primer, if that’s what you’re after“
Being Independent means also reaching out to industry leaders and asking in simple, polite manner and soon someone will help. Before I started internship I never knew A town by the name “Sharewoodville” existed… But I took “A” Train without much of a clue and ever since then… ceased Use of Telenav or subscribe to any GPS services… Because i am socially networked and and know how to navigate the informed market.

Feel free to send questions… I will always research… and help as much I can… I am still learning the SEO/SEM Subway System and together we can openly solicit help and directions till we get to our desired destinations.
